Abstract

Venous thoracic outlet syndrome (v-TOS) is rare condition and early diagnosis is difficult without thrombosis. We reported successful hybrid treatment of v-TOS with efforted thrombosis of subclavian vein with no complication. A 42-year-old male presented with a swelling and pain. We decided the external decompression of damaged subclavian vein with revascularization by endovascular treatment after endovascular treatment failure. CT angiography shows obliterations of subclavian vein with first rib compression in CT angiography. We performed first rib resection and anterior scalene muscle division through paraclavicular approach with subclavian vein stenting. After treatment, all symptoms improved without complication. Combination treatment with surgical thoracic outlet decompression and intraoperative angioplasty is effective in v-TOS.
